What is the EPC discount from KBC Brussels?
Whether you buy, build or renovate an energy-efficient home, your efforts deserve to be rewarded. If your home meets the conditions, you can get an EPC discount on the interest rate of your home loan with KBC Brussels. If you’re entitled to this discount, it will be factored into your loan proposal automatically, but you can also apply for your loan to be adjusted at a later time.
When are you eligible for an EPC discount?
You are eligible for the EPC discount if you:
- Buy a house with a good EPC rating (A, B, C or D)
- Carry out energy-saving renovations so that your home achieves an EPC rating of A, B, C or D*
- Buy a new-build property
*Your EPC discount will be automatically factored into your mortgage loan proposal if you are entitled to it. If you improve your home’s EPC rating at a later time, you can submit your new EPC and request a review of your loan’s interest rate no later than seven years after signing your loan contract.
- You cannot receive an EPC discount on bridging loans, building land or property located abroad
- You must be able to produce a valid EPC certificate when requesting an adjustment
How do you apply for the EPC discount?
- Are you planning to buy a property with a good EPC rating? Submit your EPC when applying for your mortgage loan or send it to your KBC Brussels representative. The discount will be added to your loan proposal automatically.
- Are you renovating your property? Deliver your new EPC to KBC Brussels within seven years of signing your loan contract. You can easily do this in KBC Brussels Mobile or KBC Brussels Touch. If your home has achieved an EPC rating of A, B, C or D, KBC Brussels will review your interest rate.
