From organising your next trip ...

As the summer approaches, you quietly start dreaming about faraway places. If you’ve already chosen your next holiday destination, it’s time to start your travel preparations and book things like accommodation and transport.

If you book your holiday with your credit card:

  • you don't have to pay right away, because the amount will only be taken from your current account the following month (if you’ve linked a KBC Brussels Flex Budget to your credit card, you can spread your repayments over several months)
  • you can link the optional fee-based Travel package (containing three forms of insurance cover) to your card
  • you are protected against card fraud

What’s more, you don’t pay any additional fees, as the KBC Brussels Credit Card comes free with the KBC Brussels Plus Account.

Tip: Book your outings with your credit card too

You can use your credit card to book not only your hotel, but also your activities. So, if you’re planning a museum visit, get out your credit card and pre-book everything for your day out.

... to ordering a tropical drink on the beach

At long last, it's time to head off on holiday! Whether it’s at home or abroad, make sure you have your credit card with you:

  • you can pay online and at merchants worldwide using the extensive Mastercard network
  • you can withdraw cash at ATMs wherever you are (it’s often cheaper when withdrawing larger amounts outside the euro area)
  • your credit card is often requested as a guarantee (when you rent a car, for example, an amount is temporarily reserved on your card)
  • you always have a financial reserve on you, no matter where you are (for example, if you’re hit by unexpected expenses)
  • you have control over how much you spend on your card because you can set your own limit

Of course, your application for a credit card has to be approved first. You can apply for your card entirely online, 24/7.

Tip: Work out your holiday budget

Keep your holiday budget in mind when choosing your limit. If you’re a hungry foodie who loves to try new flavours, check local restaurant prices beforehand and factor them in.

Even after your trip, your credit card remains your ‘travel companion’. Why not use it to order an album of your favourite holiday snaps or to book your next trip to beat those post-travel blues?
