What details and documents do I need to register my solar panel system with my grid operator?
To guarantee the proper functioning, reliability and safety of the grid, you need to register your solar panel system with your grid operator within 30 days of the inspection. Be sure to make some preparations to ensure that you can easily complete the process on the website of your grid operator.
The registration process on the website of the grid operator requires you to enter some details and upload a few documents. You should have the following to hand:
- The EAN code of your current electricity connection
This code identifies the connection of the electrical installation to the grid. You can find it on all of your energy supplier’s bills or on the sticker on your meter cupboard or digital meter. The code is 18 digits long and starts with 54.
- A scan of a positive inspection report completed by an approved inspection service
Make sure that the completed report is clearly legible, since you are required to upload the scan through your grid operator’s digital platform.
You can find the following information in the inspection report:
- The date of inspection/commissioning
- The inspection report number
