Signing up for KBC Brussels K'Ching if you already bank with us

How do I sign up for KBC Brussels K'Ching?

Install the official app from your app store. All you have to do then is complete our secure registration and activation process directly from the app.

What is a PIN?

This is the code you use to log in and sign transactions once you’ve registered your device.

Where can I find my card number?

Your card number is a unique, personal number that you will find on your KBC Brussels Bank Card. You need it when going through the registration and activation procedures on your device.

Can I use KBC Brussels K'Ching straightaway?

Yes, once you’ve installed the KBC Brussels K'Ching app, completed the registration and activation processes (you only have to do this once) and set your PIN.

What is Touch ID (iOS) or Fingerprint (Android)?

Touch ID is the official name for the fingerprint identity sensor on the latest iPhones. On Android phones it’s called Fingerprint. It’s built into the home button on your phone and lets you log in and sign transactions without having to use your PIN.

Where do I set my Touch ID/fingerprint?

You can only do this in your phone’s settings.

Why can’t I activate fingerprint authentication for KBC Brussels K'Ching on my Samsung phone?

Some Samsung phones have a special type of fingerprint feature that doesn’t work with KBC Brussels K'Ching.

Can I use KBC Brussels K'Ching on more than one device?

Yes, although you’ll need to complete the registration and activation processes and set your PIN for each device. It’s up to you whether to use a different PIN for each device or to go for the same one for all.

Can I use KBC Brussels K'Ching and KBC Brussels Mobile on the same device?

Yes, although you’ll need to complete the registration and activation processes and set your PIN for each app. It’s up to you whether to use a different PIN for each app or to go for the same one for both.

Can several users work on the same device?

No, a smartphone is treated as a personal device and therefore cannot be used by more than one user.

Don't forget that if someone logs in as an active user on a smartphone using the registration and activation procedures, they become the only active user on that device. This means that the previous user will no longer be able to log in (unless they complete the registration and activation procedures again).

Can others log in and sign using my KBC Brussels K'Ching app?

This can only be done using your PIN or fingerprint.

Note that anyone who adds their fingerprint to your device can use it to log in to your KBC Brussels K'Ching app and sign transactions.

Why do I need to set up a new PIN or Touch ID / Fingerprint if I replace my device or wish to use an additional one?

This is so that your new device is recognised for use with KBC Brussels K'Ching and security is guaranteed.

Can I use letters and numbers in the PIN I choose?

The PIN for the KBC Brussels K'Ching app must consist of five digits. Letters are not permitted.

Signing up for KBC Brussels K'Ching if you don't yet bank with us

How do I start using KBC Brussels K'Ching if I'm not yet a KBC Brussels client?

You need a KBC Brussels Current Account to start using the app. You can open one online or in your branch. If you're under 18, one of your parents can open a current account in your name in KBC Brussels Touch.

Logging in to the app

Can I change my KBC Brussels K'Ching PIN?

Yes. Just log in and go to ‘My profile’ to change it.

After three failed attempts, my PIN has been blocked. What should I do now?

If your PIN has been blocked, you can request a new one using ‘Forgotten PIN’ in the main menu. This involves going through the registration procedure again using your bank card and card reader.

If an account is added or removed in KBC Brussels Touch, does that also happen automatically in the KBC Brussels K'Ching app?

When an account is removed, it will no longer be visible in KBC Brussels K'Ching. If you open a new current or savings account at your branch or using KBC Brussels Touch, you can immediately select it in your settings.

App features: personalising my app

How can I pimp my app?

Feeling like a superstar one day and a bit melodramatic the next? In ‘Settings’, you can quickly change the layout to reflect how you're feeling.

Can I make custom skins myself?

What do I hear when I log in?

All of KBC Brussels K'Ching’s skins have their own special tone that sounds when you log in to or out of the app. You can switch this on or off in your settings.

Can I change my name without having to go to the local government offices?

You can't change your real name using KBC Brussels K'Ching, but you can choose one to use in the app. You can do this when you sign up for KBC Brussels K'Ching. Afterwards you can change this name at any time by selecting ‘My profile’ and then ‘Settings’.

I've got a number of current accounts or savings accounts. Can I choose which one I see?

If you've more than one current account, you should go into ‘Settings’ and select the one you want as your ‘main account’. You will then be able to transfer money from this account, see which transactions you've carried out on it, check the balance in your login screen and withdraw money using MobileCash. You're free to change your main account at any time.
Even if you have more than one savings account, you can select the one you want as your 'main savings account' under ‘Settings’.

My boyfriend/girlfriend transfers money to me now and again. Can I link those transfers to a photo of him/her?

If you've more than one current account, you can go into ‘Settings’ and select the account for which information is to be displayed. You're free to do that at any time. Even if you have more than one savings account, you can go into ‘Settings’ and select the savings account for which information is to be displayed.
If you and your partner have a joint account, you can see that too in the KBC Brussels K'Ching app.

How is my account information displayed?

Your transactions are grouped by counterparty. For instance, if your parents transfer pocket money to you every week, all those transactions will be neatly grouped together, with the most recent transfer at the top.

Can I see the balance of my account without having to log in each time?

Yes, you can. Go into 'Settings' and select the option to see the balance of your current account, savings account or both in your login screen. It'll save you the trouble of logging in each time to check if those millions have been credited to your account…
If you decide that you no longer want to display the balance on your login screen, you can quickly go back into ‘Settings’ and disable the facility.

I can see the transactions on my account but not the balance. Where can I find it?

Just swipe down your transactions and hey presto, there it is!

How far back can I check my transactions?

You can check your transactions going back 10 years.

Can I search my account information?

No, that’s not possible in the KBC Brussels K'Ching app.

App features: credit transfers

Can I only transfer money between my own accounts?

No, you can also transfer money to other accounts in the euro area. If you're under 18, however, you'll need your parents' authorisation (power of attorney) to do this. If you don't have this authorisation, your branch can sort it out for you.

Can I change limits?

KBC Brussels K'Ching doesn’t let you change limits yourself, but you can view them in your settings. Your limit for transfers is separate to your limit for the MobileCash feature that lets you make cash withdrawals. Learn more about limits. Changes made to your limits apply to all phones on which you’ve installed the KBC Brussels K'Ching app.

If you’re still under 18, your parents can change the limits at your branch.

Can I save new contacts in KBC Brussels K'Ching?

I've more than one current account and want to transfer money from one of the other ones. Is that possible?

App features: saving goals

What are savings goals?

Savings goals are a fun, easy way to save up for something you’d really like.

Are savings goals free of charge?

Yes!

I’d like to save with a goal. How do I do that?

You can set up a savings goal on your savings account. The bot is there to guide you in setting up a new savings goal ;-). Name your goal and add a fun photo if you like. Then you just say how much you want to save up and you’re done!

How do I add savings to my savings goal?

There are several ways to transfer savings in this way.

  • When you transfer money from your current account to your savings account, you can specify whether it’s for a particular savings goal. You can of course also opt to simply put the money onto your savings account rather than towards something you’re saving up for.
  • Your savings account gives you the option of transferring money to savings goals. Simply choose how much and to which savings goal to make the transfer!

Can I change the sequence of my savings goals?

Yes. You can easily rearrange your savings goals in order of importance.

Can I transfer money to my current account without a savings goal?

Absolutely! You can always transfer money from your savings account, regardless of whether you have savings goals.

I’ve finally saved up enough for what I’d like. How do I buy it?

Transfer the money you’ve saved under your savings goal to your current account. You’ll need your parents’ authorisation (power of attorney) to do this. You can also transfer money directly from your savings account to your current account.

What if I transfer more to a savings goal than I wanted to save under that goal?

No problem. Your savings goal will be shown as being over the 100% mark.

I have more money in my savings account than KBC Brussels K'Ching is showing me. Why is that?

If you have set up savings goals, each one shows you how much you’ve already saved. The amount shown at the top of your savings account view is the balance on the account minus all the money you’ve saved under your savings goals.

What do I do if I no longer need something I’m saving for?

Change your goal or remove it using the header options.

  • If you’d rather save up for something else, you can change your savings goal’s name, photo and amount. This will transfer the money you’d saved for your old goal to your new one.
  • You can also remove savings goals if you want to, in which case any money you’ve saved will of course stay on your savings account!

Can I ask others to help me save up for things using savings goals?

Sorry, you can’t share savings goals with people like on social media. Only you can see your savings goals.

If you’ve installed certain mobile apps, they may be preventing your KBC Brussels K'Ching app from running properly.
