More information about the Company Liability Policy
What is insured?
- Your civil liability
This means that KBC Brussels pays the claimant- For damage caused during your business activity
- If your products cause damage after you have delivered them
- If your works cause damage after they have been carried out
- Damage in the event of fire and explosion (optional)
If you fall within the scope of the law of 30 July 1979 on the prevention of fire and explosion and on compulsory civil liability insurance in such cases and you are an operator of business premises, then you are obliged to take out insurance for your objective liability for fire and explosion.
Among other things, what is not insured?
- Damage caused intentionally, such as vandalism or assault
- Damage caused by gross misconduct, such as drunkenness or a similar condition
- Damage caused by the use of products or the application of working methods for which the law imposes penal sanctions
- Damage caused by the failure to take the necessary precautions to prevent the recurrence of damage with the same cause
- Damage due to the defective condition of the products delivered or the work carried out if you knew about the defect
Good to know
- This insurance is governed by Belgian law.
- This insurance is valid for three years. It is tacitly renewed unless cancelled no later than three months before the main expiry date.
- Your intermediary is the first point of contact for complaints. If you cannot reach an agreement, you can contact KBC Brussels-Complaints Management, Brusselsesteenweg 100, 3000 Leuven, complaints@kbc.be, tel. 016 43 25 94, fax 016 86 30 38.
