Why take out car insurance for your business with KBC Brussels?

Good drivers are rewarded with no-claims jokers and get to keep their discounted premium even after an at-fault accident

Your good driving habits will earn you 10% off your third-party liability insurance premium if you drive without causing any at-fault accidents for a year or more. After five years, you will be rewarded with a no-claims joker. If you are involved in an accident where you're at fault and you use this joker, you will avoid your premium going up. If you drive without causing any at-fault accidents for another five years after this, and your company car remains insured the entire time, you will earn another no-claims joker.

Good drivers earn discounts

If you drive without causing any at-fault accidents for a year or more, you will earn a 10% discount on your third-party liability insurance premium. If you cause an accident but don’t have a joker, you'll lose your discounted premium for a year. If you make it through the following year without causing any at-fault accidents, you'll qualify for the lower premium again.

Insure your new vehicle at a discounted premium

If you're insuring your new company car, you can benefit from a discounted premium, both for your comprehensive insurance and your compulsory third-party liability insurance. This is because new vehicles are safer than older ones.

What type of insurance can you take out for your company car?

1. Third-party liability insurance

If you want to drive your company car on public roads, you are required by law to take out third-party liability insurance. It covers any loss, damage or injury you cause to others if you are at fault. In such cases, however, any damage to your car is not insured.

2. Extend your cover by adding semi-comprehensive or fully comprehensive insurance

When you take out semi-comprehensive insurance, you are covered in most claim events caused by someone other than yourself. Our fully comprehensive insurance policy covers virtually any claim, unless it is included on the limited list of exclusions.

  Semi-comprehensive insurance Fully comprehensive insurance
Glass breakage
At-fault accidents
Theft, attempted theft or break-in
Fire
Vandalism
Damage caused by forces of nature (e.g., by hail)
Compensation for additional features if your car is declared a total loss (e.g., a roof box or a set of winter tyres)
Repayment of the vehicle registration tax in the event of a total loss
Filling up with the wrong type of fuel
Compensation increased by 10% if the car is stolen or declared a total loss Optional Optional
Damage caused by collisions with animals

3. Additional driver accident insurance

If you cause an accident and require medical care, we will reimburse the expenses you run up provided you've taken out driver accident insurance. These expenses are not covered under your compulsory third-party liability insurance policy.

4. Personal assistance and roadside assistance

Additional roadside assistance insurance and personal assistance insurance provide cover if your car breaks down or you have an accident – either in Belgium or abroad.

5. Legal assistance insurance

There’s always the possibility that you’ll end up in a dispute following an accident. If there is disagreement with the other party regarding compensation or the repair work, this supplementary cover ensures you receive legal assistance to recover the cost of your loss or damage – either through litigation or an out-of-court settlement. Your legal expenses are covered up to 100 000 euros.
