How to file an industrial accident claim?

How to file an industrial accident claim?

Were you involved in an accident during your commute to work? Or did you slip, fall or trip over at work? It can happen to anyone... What do you do then? We're happy to explain this to you. At KBC Brussels, we do our utmost to process your file as quickly as possible and to provide compensation for all insured costs promptly.

1. Report the accident to your employer

Please do this as soon as possible. Even if you are not immediately affected by the accident and you don't have to interrupt your work. In this way, you'll avoid discussions if you should experience problems at a later stage as a consequence of the accident.

2. Your employer informs KBC Brussels

Your employer sends us a completed work accident claim form together with your payslip and a medical certificate within eight days of the accident. Provide your employer with as detailed a description as possible of the accident.

3. Provide us with the necessary documents

We require the following documents:

• A medical certificate completed by the emergency doctor or your family doctor. You should provide this certificate to your employer as quickly as possible so that they can send it to us along with your report. Of course, you can always send it to us yourself.

• A copy of your last payslip (which you or your employer should send to us).

How should you send us these documents?

By post to:
KBC Brussels Insurance NV
attn Industrial Accidents Department
Professor Roger Van Overstraetenplein 2
3000 Leuven

If you already have a file number, be sure to include it on the envelope containing your documents or in the subject line of your e-mail.

You may e-mail any other documents to us at schade@kbc.be
Remember to include the file number and your first name and surname in the subject line of the e-mail.
