How to link your bank or credit card to PayPal

You can link your bank account to your PayPal account in a few simple steps. Then you just have to confirm your account by two amounts paid into your bank account.

  1. Log into your PayPal account.
  2. Click on Wallet.
  3. Click on Link a bank.
  4. Enter your details and click on Continue.
  5. Check your details and click on Add Bank Account.

Confirm a bank account

PayPal will transfer two random amounts (between 0.01 and 0.99 euros) to your bank account. These transfers are at PayPal’s expense and should appear on your account within two to three working days. Once you’ve received the transfers, follow these three steps:

  1. Go to your Wallet.
  2. Choose a bank account and confirm it.
  3. Enter the two amounts transferred to your account and send them.

If you’ve entered the right amounts, your bank account will be confirmed and you can start making payments.

Confirm your credit card

Linking your credit card is even easier:

  1. Log in to your PayPal account.
  2. Go to your Wallet.
  3. Link your credit card.
  4. Fill in your details in the form provided.
  5. Save your details. Your address will then be checked by PayPal. This may take a few minutes. Once the check is complete, the credit card will be linked to your account and you’ll have a basic account.
